The **Calendar** is where you manage your facility's day. Every booking lands
here, whether a customer books online or you create it yourself from the front
desk.

## How bookings get on the calendar

There are two ways a booking appears here:

- **Online bookings**: when a customer books on your public booking page, the
booking shows up on the calendar automatically. Nothing to do on your end.
- **Manual bookings**: you can create bookings yourself, directly from the
calendar. Select an empty time slot, then click **Create Booking**.

## Create a booking manually

After you select a slot and click **Create Booking**, you'll see a few options.

### Book for a guest

Use this for customers who aren't in your system yet. For example, someone
calls in over the phone, or you just want a quick note or reminder on the
calendar. Enter their name and click **Create**. That's it.

### Book for an existing customer

If the customer is already in your customer list, search for them by name,
email, or phone number, select them, and click **Create Booking**.

The booking is added to that customer's booking history too. You can see it on
their customer details page.

### Hold a slot and send a payment link

The third option holds the time slot and sends the customer a payment link.
This is useful for things like parties or private events, where you want to
reserve the slot until the customer pays.

## Block off time

You can also create **blocked times** on the calendar. Blocked times prevent
customers from booking certain slots on your public booking page. Use them for
maintenance, private use, or any time you're closed for regular bookings.

## Create an event

If you select **multiple time slots**, you can create an event instead of a
booking. That takes you to the event creation page. Events are a separate
topic, covered in [Events & classes](/guides/growth/events).

## Booking reminders

By default, customers receive a booking reminder email **1 hour before** their
booking time. You can change the content and colors of the email in the emails
section. See [Booking notifications](/guides/operations/notifications) for the
details.
