BookThisCourt collects payment at the moment of booking, so the court is only held once it's paid for. Checkout runs through Stripe, connected to your own account, so the money is yours from the first sale.
From the Payments page you can configure:
- Tax: apply the right tax rate to bookings.
- Refund policy: define when and how refunds are issued.
- Pay in store: let customers reserve without paying online and pay at the venue.
- Deposits: collect a partial amount at booking instead of the full price.
Connect Stripe
Payments run through Stripe, so money from bookings lands in your own account.
- In the sidebar under Settings, open Payments.
- Follow the Stripe onboarding to link or create your Stripe account.

Tax
Apply the right tax rate to bookings so the correct amount is collected at checkout.

Refund policy
Control how cancellations are handled and where refunds go. Think of it like an airline fare: cancel early and you get the most back, cancel last-minute and you get less (or nothing). You set the cutoffs, and the system applies them automatically when a customer cancels.
Everything here is optional. Leave a section off and that rule simply doesn't apply. Turn on only the pieces that fit how your facility runs.
Allow customer cancellations
Let customers cancel their own bookings from their account. If this is off, they have to contact you to cancel.
Wallet credit refunds
Refund cancelled bookings as wallet credit the customer can spend on a future booking, rather than money back to their card. You decide how early they have to cancel to earn it:
| Setting | Example | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Non-member cutoff | 12 hours before | Must cancel 12+ hours before to earn credit. |
| Member cutoff | 2 hours before | Members get a more generous window (2+ hours before). |
You can also restrict credit refunds to qualifying membership tiers. By default all members qualify; pick specific tiers (for example Standard, Gold, or a "10 Hour Weekday Saver") to limit it to those.
Credit card refunds
Refund to the customer's original payment method. This applies to early cancellations when both this and wallet credit are enabled. Two cutoffs decide how much comes back:
| Setting | Example | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Full refund cutoff | 48 hours before | 48+ hours before gets a 100% refund. |
| Partial refund cutoff | 24 hours before | 24 to 48 hours before gets a partial refund. |
| Partial refund amount | 50% (or a fixed amount) | How much the partial refund is worth. |
What customers will see
Once your cutoffs are set, customers see exactly what they'll get back before they cancel. With the example values above:
| When they cancel | What they get |
|---|---|
| 48+ hours before | Full credit card refund |
| 12 to 48 hours before | Wallet credit (all customers) |
| 2 to 12 hours before | Wallet credit (members only) |
| Less than 2 hours before | No refund |

Refund policies can get complicated. If you'd like a hand setting yours up, reach out through the contact form on our home page or email us at info@bookthiscourt.com.
Gift card settings
Control how gift cards apply at checkout.
Pay in store
When enabled, customers can reserve without paying online and pay at the venue instead. Turn pay-in-store on or off per type: court reservations, memberships, credit bundles, and events.

Deposits
Collect a partial amount at booking instead of the full price, with the balance due later.
Want to charge in person too? The Square integration adds POS terminal charging alongside online checkout.
